Default Legal issues for swapping a fresh d16y7 in a ek hatch.

Hey guys,

I'm a long time honda builder, but just picked up a really clean 98 black hatch, the engine has over 267k.. still drives fine.. lol..

I want to swap in a fresher engine, the transmission is next, along with the clutch, i live in mass, so i think the engine has to be 98+, but you guys think i can get away from a 96, 97 if i find a cheap y7?

I was also planing to swap the tbelt/waterpump/etc when i buy a new engine.

Thanks!!

All you have to do is pass emissions test. Make sure you use the correct harness and computer so you wont have a check engine light.

would you get in trouble if you did a b18a1 swap on a 91 crx when the crx only has been made to carry b16a1 but you made it work with no check engine light

Correct 99-00 come d16y8 and yours y7. The only difference is the electric engine harness. So if you have to put a y8 just use your old harness and you should be able to use your old computer too.
