Default F22A1 To F22A4 Exhaust Manifold

What Gasket do I need, the EX or LX Exhaust manifold gasket? I am doing the EX Manifold/A-pipe Swap? I was thinking the EX Gasket. What Brand? The factory Nippon or is there a better one out there? 1991 Accord.

Thanks

If it is a 91 I would say that you have the F22A* engine in your chassis. the F22B* engines were found in the 94-97 Accords.

Anywho, I would suggest using the factory gaskets for the exhaust pipe that you are using. For example; if you have an EX manifold and pipes you will need EX gaskets. OEM is good quality. Stay away from the cheap compressed-fibre-material gaskets and stick with the OE style multiple layer steel gaskets.

They have different part numbers between the F22A4 tubular manifold gasket and the F22A1/6 cast manifold gasket. The F22A1/6 gasket is 18115-PT0-004(Ishino) and the F22A4 gasket is 18115-PT3-A21(Nippon). I would get the gasket for the F22A4.

I wouldn't reuse the gasket because it is a crush-ring style. It won't ever properly seat again. Sure people get by all the time with repeated use but it's not the right way.

I have re-used them on dozens of cars, manifolds and engines. Never had a leak yet.
matter of fact my current 256k mile crx still has the original gasket on there and has been off and on more than a few times.
