220whp from Jdm type r
Ok guys so I've searched & searched but haven't found any luck..
I'm aiming on achieving 220whp from my jdm type r swap my current mods are RMF narrow header, greedy full exhaust, ib velocity stack & act xtreme 6 puck race disk sprung clutch with act 8lb flywheel... I want some more power. I was looking into upgrading my valvetrain & cams & injectors then tunning on hondata s300 or on chrome but leaving the bottom end stock for now.. im looking to get 215-220whp wld be best . Any ideas?
I was looking into some JUN 3 cams & also skunk2 pros 2 along with either cam go with valve train. Good me some feedback thanks.!

I'm really not sure I haven't taken it in to get dyno & see where I'm at..my local tuned shop charges alot..I figure I wld build it alittle then go for the tune. I've seen stock type rs doing close to 200-205 & 195whp & as for manifold I've read its pointless to ditch out the stock manifold when skunk2,blox etc are reps as to the ITR manifold ..did think about port n matching it tho but wldnt I have to port & polish my head also..?
I'll have to give my local tuner a call tomorrow & prob set up a day.
I've seen some builds with jst cams & valvetrain injectors & thinner headgasket to bump CR alittle to 11.5.1 & guy was pushing 220whp..
I did tho tlk to my local tuner today about my goal & he told me to see some results like that is have to use diff pistons he told me I cld run ctr pistons to raise compression then cams, valvetrain tune ,injectors as well & run on E85 fuel

stock itr block
built head-supertech black nitride flat face valves, dual springs and retainers, valve seals, guides
with a port and polished b16a head
stock cams/cam gears
stock itr manifold
70mm throttle body port matched to manifold
hondata manifold gasket
440injectors and walbro fuel pump/ fuel rail/regulator
2.5inch exhaust
exedy stage 1 clutch
hondata s100
im gna retune now that i got skunk2 stage 2 pro cams
victor x manifold
and skunk2 alpha header
looking to break 210whp on dyno jet
Nice ..! See a build like that wouldn't be too bad but 220whp wld be pretty cool to break .. I've researched & port matching the itr manifold is way better then the victor x so you might wanna look into that . I do wanna upgrade the cams & valvetrain along with injectors ..& maybe bigger TB if I port match the manifold.
220+ is asking for stage 3 full race cams or block work..
victor x is a better candidate cuz it makes power compared to the itr manifold ported.. i have seen dyno graphs here on H-T..

Yes I knw I was looking into some JUN 3 cams or buddy club spec 3 ..& I think with both cam run 11.1 CR & up to 12 CR if I'm not mistaken.
Here's a teg pushing 220hp

The mods of that integra are
11,5CR,two-tier gasket (0,5mm) camshaft buddy club spec 4,hard spings and titanium retainers skunk2, throttling valve skunk2 70mm, intake CAI 3" , exhaust - DC sports 4-1 JDM 2,5", arterial silencer 2,25 ecu p28 crome 4&5 gear y21 (b16a2)

jun3 is probably your best bet for resale as well as a great power producer AND a reliable one.
a stock jdm itr with jun3's and a tune will do 200whp
with a good header and exhaust, ported head and matching manifold that's going to be worth more. hard to say if it would be 20hp but i would guess at least 10
btw: you need to say this is all in a type r shell to keep some of the itr snobs off your *** in the discussion

Simple answer is to do head work. Cams, porting, valves...**** you could clover the combustion chamber if you were real serious! If you go too big of a cam you will need higher compression pistons but if you do that, I'd suggest better bearings and stronger rods too. Just my .02

Good heads up..lol yeah I've read some real good reviews on JUN 3 cams ,ill be doing also JUN valvetrain to go along. Also going for a street port n polish head & port & matching the manifold. Then tuning on hondata s300 . Got a good header now RMF narrow with ib velocity stack. What wld be some good injectors or cld I stick to stock ones?
stock are going to be a little short at that hp level.
something like
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acura-Honda-...ht_1728wt_1163
would do the trick
and or this stuff from FIC is excellent
https://www.fuelinjectorclinic.com/c...ey=IS115-0340H
only problem with precision injectors is you don't know which style you'll get. the skinny new ones require washers to prevent them from sliding down in the manifold. with FIC you get what they show.

rc has been around forever. talk to the guys at www.englishracing.net they are an FIC dealer and can give you the run down on the difference
