Default Tanabe springs.

Anyone run these in these in their ITR? I searched and couldn't find anything. I can't afford a good set of coil overs so I want to lower the car about 1 inch in both the front and rear with these. They are stiffer too apparently "20%-30%" stiffness over stock, so might improve handling. Opinions? Coil overs are out of the question..can't afford them.

if you want a 1" drop and 20% stiffer than stock you want the tein h tech.

for the 94+ integra tein copied the itr spring rates when making the s and h tech. the h tech also keeps the factory stance rather than lower in the rear like so many aftermarket springs

These say they lower the front 1.7 and the rear .9, is that too agressive?

It says it lowers the front 1.5 and the rear 1.4. Is that .1 difference to keep that stance you speak of?

Out of the two I don't know which to choose. But thanks for the insight!

Typical aftermarket springs. The rear springrate is actually less then the OEM ITR rear spring, and the front is inflated just a little bit.

All they are going to do is lower your car and introduce understeer. And if you are putting them on stock shocks, then the results will be even more exaggerated.

You own a Type R. You can't "cheap" out on parts and expect it to be better than stock. It's not a 94 Civic Dx.

Just save your cash until you can afford to do it correctly. Wasn't that a re-occuring theme in your search?

I was once in your boat. I was comparing every lowering spring on the market cause I cant afford coilovers either. I went with neuspeed sport springs and I love them. I dont race my R, just some spirited driving, so the spring rates dont matter a whole lot to me. I am thinking of matching my neuspeeds up with some koni yellows some day, but im happy with it on the stock struts for now. Neuspeed advertises that it lowers your caR 1.75 in the front and 1.5 in the rear. Even though it may sound aggressive, it doesnt tuck the 195/55/15 tires in the wheel wells at all.

That just my .02

it's in short, a 2 finger gap all the way around

as todd points out, most spring makers favor understeer and do not maintain the balance of the itr.

for the integra only tein copied the itr springs for the design. the h tech is 300lb/in front and 250lb/in rear if i remember correctly

Springs are out of the question. Since I don't have the tools to install them I would have to pay someone..a garage gave me a quote of upwards $700. Since that's a lot of money I'd rather save up for coilovers...what brand is best? I saw that D2 ones look cheap, but they are probably cheap for a reason and shitty.

Any recommendations? I'd rather wait and get really good parts then buy now.

Sockets/wrenches, spring compressor, and... ?

IIRC, I rented a spring compressor from the local Kragen or Autozone for a few bucks.

700? that's lulzy

find a local guy who knows what he was doing. if you were near here i would do a spring install for you for $150. that's 2hrs of labor @ 75/hr

i can't even fathom how they would get to 700

Just assume in the suspension world that if a part is cheap, it is cheap for a reason. "Budget" coilovers are for ricers and those who can't afford to do it correctly. And, they suck @ss, too. The shock valving of the coilover is pure crap.

I suggest that you shop around a bit as suspension work on the 3rd gen Integra is relatively cheap and easy. A $700 quote for 2-3 hours of work is rather silly. And if I was doing it on a lift with a wall-mounted spring compressor, I could have the entire OEM suspension off and new springs back on in about 1.5 hours.

I'll ask around. But for now she's staying stock..still want to get rid of the exhaust but money is tight.
