Where to get B17 rods?
Google! I googled it and some place called atomicspeedware.com has the Crower rods... $800 a set though, unless you want their $2600 titanium set. I don't think you can use other B series rods unless you change the crank too. The B17 rod end (big side) is bigger than other B series rods, so a B17 rod won't fit on a B18 crank. Also, if you do change cranks, you'll need to weld on more deck to fit everything inside to get your head back on. Basically, if you are rebuilding to stock spec and have your crank then B17 rods are OK. If you are trying to rebuild this for performance and have other cranks and stuff, I'd suggest just getting a B18 block because if you put B16 stuff in it you'll destroke it.
Thanks for the link. $800 for rods is just toooo much.
AFAIK, B16A's, B17's, B18A/B's, and B20B/Z's all have the same big-end dimensions.
B18C and B16B Rods are narrower than the above engines, but the same diameter.
If I end up not using stock rods, I'll be using 137mm B18/B20 rods with custom ~25mm Compression Height Pistons. Pistons will be ~.020" in the hole.
