b16a vtec not working

Default b16a vtec not working

my b16a vtec is not working, everything is hooked up throwing a code 13 but got told its nothing to worry about, swapped out the dx wire harness for a ex harness so everything is hooked up properly, any body have any ideas what could be wrong.

Whoever told you it's "nothing to worry about" knows nothing about ECUs.

Code 13 Barometric Pressure Bad Sensor

Any CEL will disable vtec to protect the engine. The Baro sensor is built into the ECU, and if it's gone bad, you either need to get your ECU tuned, disabling the Baro check all together, or replace the ECU.

well its a chipped p28 and i got told that a chipped ecu rarely goes bad

...Ok then, let's recap what we know here.

Code 13 means that your Baro sensor is bad. The baro sensor is in the ECU. Vis a vi, your ECU is bad. I've already told you how to solve this problem.

I have one piece of advice:
Follow advice given and fix diagnosed problem. He saved you a ton of money and time from a shop diagnosing the problem and is right.
