9 sec. D-series sedan?
I'm just wondering how much power you guys are putting down to get into high 9's
The thing is I have to build a car produced locally so my only options are a 99/00 Sedan and a 06/11 Civic SI
Of course I wont be spending $30k just to get the car so the sedan is the only reasonable option.
That's the most popular category down here and 95% of the people run VW's and the record is 9.4xx so I'm just wondering if I could build a competitive D-series sedan
thanks

It would depend a lot on the weight of the vehicle in my opinion, a lot on the driver.
I'd say budget ~$15k-25k for everything if you have the skills to do a majority of the labor yourself or have good friends that will do things like welding/tuning for free, doing it right the first time you can build a D motor, convert to B trans, throw a great turbo on there, lighten the crap out of the car and hit a 9.9x relatively simply without too much "custom" stuff that will plague you with issues.

Then it's not an option..
The car has to be full interior, and all stock pannels, no fiberglass or cf alowed..
Should be in the 2400lbs
Im the tuner myself and I can fab, and I have many friends on this industry but I guess that would be pretty hard to accomplish.

I could cheat, though... And that would make it hellafun
200shot of nitrous and a lot of weight savings could be done while still looking stock

1998 Civic LX Sedan full weight stock with a half tank of gas weighed in at 2420 without a driver. Full size spare tire and all power accessories. No sunroof. That will at least give you an idea. I actually have not gotten to weigh it since I have the current setup in it. I just weighed it when I first got the car.
