I have always wanted a Type-R ever since I saw one at the '97 Vancouver auto show. At the time finances wouldn't allow me have one but today I picked up my first Type-R.

I ended up getting a 2001 Champ white, Canadian model(red interior) with only 57K km. I met the seller of the car back in '08 when we installed a set of KW V2, it had 54K km on it then and I told him "if you ever sell this car I want first dibs". Last week he showed up at the shop and said I have first dibs if I was till interested, I shook his hand right there and a deal was struck.

The only mods are wheels, KW V2, AEM CAI, Hytech headers, T1R exhaust and Hondata S300. The car has never been hit. The seller also gave me all the stock parts inc. the factory wheels.

I want to sell the aftermarket wheels and replace them with a set of Mugen MF10 and the T1R exhaust has to go, I want a J's racing exhaust.

What T1R do you have? 63mm or 70mm?

 

The STi was pretty tough. I do not know what mm the exhaust is, I drove the car for 5min then left it at the shop. I will let you know.

sold modded STi hatch for Type R? does not compute

 

I had a fairly modded 06 wrx a couple years ago. Now looking for an R. Makes perfect sense to me.

Basically sold the STi and ths car came up. Had to add a bit of drama

 

When you're ready to let this go to the next owner who'll cherish her...let me know. I WANT FIRST DIBs!!

 

How does it compare to your STI? Why the change of heart?

 

STI was a fun car after all the mods etc but it didn't inspire me like the R does. A lot of my suby friends have heard me talk about getting a type r for years but I could never find a clean, low km example until now. I have had 3 Subies '02 WRX, '04 STI and the '08 and all were modded and track driven. Every time I was at an event I would talk to the type r owners and they loved their cars where I only liked mine, now I know how they feel.

You can see the yr I joined Honda tech and even earlier on itrca, I knew eventually I would become an R owner.

My first new car was '90 civic si that I modded, actually purchased nib mugen mr-5 wheels and bodykit. Think how hard it was to get these parts back then before the 'net. I also installed a car tech turbo kit with an air-water intercooler. This was in '92 before the Honda wave even started.

I'm 41 now and I bleed Honda colors still. My bruises look like the mugen colors

 

I will keep that in mind but I think I will never sell this car. I will keep the mileage low and park it next to my low km '66 beetle.

I know there will be haters about me keeping the car and not driving daily but I have to save this one. I might even convert it back to the original look.

 

Sell me your rear seats.. Please?
