Default 1998 INTEGRA RS TIMELINE BUILD

Just a timeline of what i did to the car before i sell it. Yup Im not goin to keep it. Progress report for whom buys it. To show all the hard work ive done. Also to show i didnt cut corners and prove its not a hacked up honda/acura like most fixed imports are.

So i bought this integra from my brother-in-law summer of 2011. At the time i was looking for a eg hatchback. But i couldnt pass it up since my sister practically told him to give it to me.

true 1998 integra rs clean title 135k in law owned since 2005

all original panels except the pass fender and bumper and lights.
i was kinda iffy at first and was wondering why he had a 94-97 front bumper/lights (did he get into an accident?) well he did he said he spun out on a seattle rainy day, in to a chain link fence. no structure damage just cosmetic. He replaced it with a 94/97 front end because it was cheaper and he was in college at the time and was broke.

CONS
-ugly/dirty tan interior
-i hate the color
-i dont like the 94-97 front end
-needs rear brake pads replaced
-need new driver fender

PROS
- rs model so no sunroof (like the type r)
-completely stock except for the fit wheels.
-original motor and trans healthy and maintain vigorously (bro-in-law drove from seattle to Pullman)so i know it runs great
-he changed the t-belt ,water pump and alternator recently along with new belts.
-no damage to the Qp's or structure damage. (its so hard to find integra/ civic without body damage)

march/april 2012

I only used oem parts for the exterior (they just fit better).
picked up a bumper with corner lights and 1 headlight for $120

Was trying to buy just the driver fender off a guy on craigslist. But he wouldnt sell me just the fender, so i bought the whole set of fenders and hood for 200. i already sold the hood and my green pass fender for $160. so i basically paid $40 for the fender

april- body work body work body work. sorry no pics

April

Sold the fit rims to fund the body work materials

1 week of body work. car was pretty straight so i only had 8 dings to fix on the whole car and a couple scratches

so i shaved the antenna, roof squirter, and side moldings using 3m panel bond 1/4 steel plates and metal filler.

bumpers, side skirts were sanded all the way down. everything was hit with 320 and coated with 3 layers of primer
door handles and mirrors got the same treatment. lights, moldings, trims and even door-lock barrels where removed to guarantee no over spray

(sorry no pics of the bodywork) but it was done legit. i do it for a living.

pics after primer in my backyard

now for the recent updates.May 2012

painted interior, door jams under the hood backside of the doors and trunklid

paint color of choice S2000 GRAND PRIX WHITE (was planning to go with nh-0 champ white but they didnt have it in nason ss. and i wasnt planning to pay an extra $200 just to have the jams painted that color ) i personally like the grand prix white anyway. since champ white is played out

INTERIOR PAINT- NASON single stage

EXTERIOR PAINT-going with PPG base and clear

(dont worry im not goin to paint the exterior in my backyard)

it actually turned out flawless, surprisingly no bugs flew in it. haha

also wheel rolled my QP's
before and after

So I picked uped the integra today with two of my friends. Who also owns dc integras. I didnt have a truck or anything to pick-up my parts. So i had to install and align at the body shop. Took us only 30 mins to install and align front end. Also did rear hatch since I had the extra hands.

I also forgot the to bring the nuts, brackets, license plates for the rear end. I had to drive home with out the taillights, bumper or license plate. Kinda scary but made it home without any hassles

ON TO THE PICS!!!!

OH YEA FORGOT TO MENTION, I PICKED UP A OEM HONDA US ITR LIP. SUPER HARD TO COME BY. PICKED UP FOR $180 < WELL WORTH IT THO

THE ALIGNMENT

WIRETUCK THE REAR END

^ THE ONLY 3 WIRES YOUR GONNA SEE BACK THERE

THE UGLY RUN

PRETTY MUCH STOCK. PUT IN A 2010 PIONEER PRIMIERE IPOD DECK, RAZO ACCESSORIES, 330MM DEEP DISH STEERING WHEEL, CUSTOM S. WHEEL HUB, MB QUARTZ SPEAKERS
SEUDE HEAD LINER

MY GARBAGE BAG DOOR LINERS HAHA
