New Jersey ITR/GSR safety...
I was down in Jersey City over the weekend to celebrate my friends b-day. I thought of driving there but decided not to, because of the crazy rain, and 2 I wasnt sure how good the neighborhood was.
I decided to take the path train there from manhattan, and once I got out It seems as though the negihborhood is habited by NYC's rich..... and I saw luxury cars parked almost everywhere....
How safe is Jersey City? especially near the water where the hi rise condos are?

Still not that safe ..... A good friend of mine lives in a gated community in JC right on the water. Absolutely beautiful and clean as hell. His car was broken into 3 times in two months.
I had my R parked there once but it was only for 15 minutes a few years ago.
heh .... and to think i used to park my car in the village...... haha never again!

Just remember that Jersey City is a stone throw from Newark- the stolen car capitol of the world. I used to work on the Bayone/ J city boarder years ago and the people are either old and nice or young punks/stunna/ricers/hodlums/wannabe/gansta/toughguy/pimpin.....

What about Hoboken? I was born in Hoboken NJ in 1977 when it was a ghetto neighborhood, but now from what I hear is very nice, and very expensive.
I wouldn't park my ITR within 20 miles of Hoboken or Jersey chitty.... Those towns are a huge buffet for the Newark thieves to feed from....

Yes Hoboken is nice .
I currently reside there now.
Rent is rediculous $1300-3800/ month for a one bedroom.
but i love the community,the bars, (4:1) ratio girl/guy)

I lived in Hoboken for 3+years. The I didn't have my R then but if I did, I still wouldn't park it there. I've seen many cars towed and broken into almost every week. My Hyundai Excel was stolen for Chr!st's sake!! Nah I'll pass!
Hoboken was fun but now that I'm alittle older, I can easily resist a drunken night out in Hoboken. Plus rent is stoooopid and the sewer smell gets really old real quick!

Philly is at least 90 miles away from Newark last time I checked...and my car has only ventured into philly like 3x....
But you will notice that none of this has kept the thieves away from my car.
