Your chances are super high! You will more than likely have to take it to a machine shop and ask them to micropolish and balance it.

Not that by itself, no. but the oil starvation that resulted in the spun-bearing will have caused significant damage to the crank.

Oil starvation isn't the only cause of a spun bearing.

FWIW, I've replaced just rod bearings on a 4.3L vortec v6 that developed a knock, no polishing, no special treatment. The motor is still going 3 years later. And the guy tows with it, so it's not babied. Im not saying it's the right way to do things but it is an option. The guy only needed the motor to last a few thousand, but it ran so well he kept.driving it.

It's possible the crank is OK if you didn't drive it after you spun the bearing.

No, but it's the most common cause, by far. A lousy rebuild job will do it, too.

Cant answer that without seeing it. Every case can be different. Youll just have to tear it apart n find out.. I just spun a bearing like last week. In the process of a full rebuild haha...

I'm fortunate I didn't spin a bearing when I purchased my car. I was leaking about a .5L of oil a day until I replaced the oil pan.
Had to check the oil before each start up pretty much lol..

I only pay about $50, but it should be somewhere in that range. Just bring them the crank and tell them you want it micropolished and they will take care of it. Just take it to a reputable shop.

oil starvation can also result FROM a spun bearing though. as the oil orifice on the bearing will no longer be lined up with orifice in the rod or block

You better get clearances checked too. Also, pics would still help. Is there any very noticeable markings on the crank journals?
