Default Couple questions about my turbo build

Hello all. First post here. I'm building a turbo b18b1 and needed some information on a few things. First off, I'd like to do a compression test on the motor, so I need to turn the motor over with the starter. I've done this to small block Chevy's but I don't know what wires to run to do this on a Honda motor. My second question is more related to the forced induction. I'm running a 50 trim turbo, 450cc injectors, and Walboro 255 on a stock LS. I have a p06 ecu. How should I go about flashing this ecu for the build?

Thanks for reading and helping a noobie.

Compression test:

pull the fuel pump fuse from the fuse block under the hood, start car until it dies.

attach tester to one cylinder at a time, crank motor over 7-8 times, check compression and repeat for all cylinders, no "running wires" not sure what you mean by that.

Ecu tuning:

Send that p06 ecu out to either xenocron.com or phearable.net , give them detailed specifics of your set up. They will chip the ecu and create a base map for it.

This base map is in no way safe or intended for driving with boost after your turbo set up is complete, it is only to make the car run/idle so you can get it tuned.

When you get it chipped/basemapped, you can choose between crome, ectune, or neptune software.

The ecu MUST be properly tuned on whatever software you choose to go with after the build is complete. The way to properly street tune it:

Wideband 02 set up, knowledge of how to use tuning software properly, a way o do data logging, and a chip burner, also having a rom emulator makes it easier to tune in real time.

On a dyno, all you need is the dyno and ability to tune the software, it has a wideband 02 set up and will tell you everything you need to know.

Tuning forced induction set ups is in no way easy or simple, it requires a wide range of tools and knowledge, failure to properly tune results in blown motors.

The best thing you can do if you dont have the time/money/desire to tune on your own is to find a shop with a dyno that tunes hondas, ask them what software they prefer to use between crome, ectune, or neptune and have your base map made with that software, when your done with the build take the car to the shop and have them dyno tune it. This usually runs $400 to $600 depending on what software is used.

Thanks a lot for the information boosted D, but let me be a little more clear on the compression test part. The motor is completely out of the vehicle right now, and there is no ECU or anything hooked up to it. That's what I meant by running wires. When I used to do this on SBC's I would just hook up a battery through an ignition switch to the starter, then turn the motor over and do the compression test. The problem is there's only one wire coming off of the starter from this motor, so I'm not sure exactly how to turn it over with the starter.

Once again thanks.

there's a post which the battery cable attaches. the other wire is a 12v signal to the starter. it is grounded through the case.

Ahhh I gotcha......Question though, Unless your on a really tight budget, if the motor is out why not just freshen it up?

New rings, bearings, head gasket,t-belt and water pump,ARP head studs and rod bolts.

This is only about $400 - $450 worth of parts, and will give you a lot of peace of mind.

Thanks kyden. And the reason I don't wanna rip this motor apart is because the guy I got it from just rebuilt it and has receipts for it, I just like to double check things before I go doing the whole swap.
