Fake J's Racing intake
With all the recent talk about the J's Racing intake and how great it is, I think you guys may be interesting on seeing this. My friend's FAKE J's Racing intake, samething as the real one but for almost half as much.
From my friend butt dyno, he told me it give great throttle response like everyone said the J's Racing intake have, and the highend is good when compare to stock intake.
Or you can go here to see the orginal thread from the ITR forum.

that intake concept is pretty old - i remember back in late 98 when i was looking for an intake for my just bought 97 civic, someone made that same exact thing, i forget who though.

Ok, I might be interested. Let me see if my theory is correct on this one. It is larger in the front and tapers to the manifold. So therefore it would increase the air flow speed, correct? Now this should only technically help upto a certain RPM where the vacuum would overcome any possible speed gains and it would reach a maximum velocity...So it seems to me low end throttle response should be a bit better by theory alone. I'd like to see some numbers on this... and how cheap are we talking here? what material is it made out of? Id be interested in CF it it wasnt $250 like from J's.
anyone have real info on these? A website? not j's racing tho cuz $250 for an intake is rediculous. Well i guess not since i paid about that for my AEM cai and bypass
I seen those for 70 bux or less at events at Moroso.
yeah, I remember now. I'd almost bought just to tried it out. Now, all the sudden everyone wants
Sanbst wishes he used the 70 bucks an for Intake than 70 bucks for the strip joint
alright...this is what i got out reading some tech articles on intakes. This design incorporates a velocity stack type design. I was correct in saying that the design allows for higher velocity air to enter the TB. This is beneficial in 2 ways, the higher the velocity apparently the less turbulent it is once it enters which helps to keep the gas particles broken up into a finer mist. Also, it allows more air in obviously. Now, as compared with a CAI, the longer tube design, also helps to create a higher velocity air charge. It appears that the ICEMAN intake uses both of these concepts which would seem that it would make a very effective intake. Alot of people are also having high success rates with using an intake tube and a large box like from the NSX or Legend at the end of the tube with no resonator and a high flow filter element. Perhaps combining the tapered design intake with a large box of some sort would produce the best combination? If someone can get me some prices and specs (material, size, etc..) on one of these intakes, I may consider trying this out. especially if its decently cheap and will work with d/b series so i can use it when i swap....other wise it will have to wait till i swap.
I wish I had a digital camera. It works on all d/b manifolds. I'm glad I spent the $30 on it. It's made of a hard plastic. I've had it for 6 months no trouble.
If it's truly only $30.00 then buy it and then DYNO test it.
I think it's too funny how Konig made that **** long ago but now since J's Racing makes it all the folks want that design.

Hell it might be THE best intake, but from here on out all things said here will be SPECULATION until someone dynos it against an AEM, Comptech Icebox, stock, etc.

Hell, the j's racing is the first ive seen of it... if konig makes one of the same quality id buy it for $30. I'd LOVE to dyno it, but unfortunately i dont have the $$ to do so. If someone wants to pay for it, ill buy the intake
also, the reason i dont like the icebox, is because of the small box design, and the foam filter element. The articles I read had better gains on the Legend box with a k&N style filter....perhaps the Apex'i filter with this setup...just a thought

I don't think that Taiwanese company have a website their products, but I could be wrong.
And if the intake and filter only cost $30usd, I would take 50 of them.
