yeh ok first off...look how many people looked at this. How retarded is it that you looked at it?
Second off, honest questions deserve honest answers. What camera do you think is the best for its price and why?

I am saving up for a Canon Powershot A40, takes some damn nice pics for only being $249 shipped...www.bestbuy.com
Seeing as how every picture on this..
MUST use a camera, Im pretty sure this is an appropriate thread!
Its very easy to tell which pictures are taken with respectable cameras. IF you dont want to help me out by sharing the wealth of information you know about digital cameras, then dont tell me to waste bandwidth... I would refer to wasting badwidth by posting the good ol "wow look what i found on ebay" when in reality its some POS for sale.
IF you can actually respond a mature response to my question, please do.
Its in the "Appearance / Cosmetic" Forum.

heres my 4.3MP or 2.4 effective MP Fuji 4900. i dont know how fuji figures it out but its plenty for me. old skool but its got great manual features. look for a camera with an adjustable shutter speed. u can take great night shots with long exposure times. dont forget to pick up a tripod or you'll get blurry pics.
try http://www.imaging-resource.com

all great sites with tons of information.

Whats your budget?
3.3 megapixels is probably considered the standard resolution currently .... you can make good 8x10 prints with a 3.3 but a 4.1-5.0 megapixel can be had if you ease up on the super-sized valued meals and ****.
I like Canons, but Nikons are great too.
Wanna spend around $300 look at a Canon S200
$400 = Canon S30
$500 = Canon S40/G1/G2
$600 = Canon G3
$700-900 = Canon D30
$1,000+ = Canon D60
http://www.dpreview.com for more info too .....

I have a Canon Powershot S200 and love it. I know people with more advanced cameras (Coolpix 995, etc), but those things ARE NOT really portable. I can carry my camera in a jacket pocket without even knowing its there, which means that I carry it around more often than people with non-compact cameras. The resolution is good enough for 98% of the photos that you would ever want to take and the picture quality is great. There is much less 'noise' (odd-colored pixels) than what you get with more expensive sonys or the fujis. People that are that hardcore about 5+ megapixel cameras should have more than one specialized camera anyway. The S200 case is also brushed stainless steel.
Disadvantages: 2 megapixels (1200x1600), and only 2x optical zoom.
Advantages: EXTREMELY compact (same size as a pack of cigarettes), cool as hell looking (everybody likes it), very durable steel case - doesn't have any external moving parts which can break off easily like the crappy plastic nikons.

I now have the services of a Canon D60, and I must say it's like using any other 35mm Canon EOS camera; pretty easy.
If your parents bought you your car, have them buy you this camera while they're at it.

the s200 is a good small camera for about 299 or less. If you dont mind something a little bigger go with the canon a40 you get a few more features and 3x optical zoom for 249 or less.
Im going to bring this thread back from the dead because Im looking for a new camera, and instead of making a new post might as well use this one. I was actually considering the fujifilm 3800 which is similar to the one in the pic above but I just dont know. If possible, could people post up a pic they took with their camera, and then the model/price etc on the camera itself....TIA

Canon G3 owns everyone else in the Prosumer class. Canon D60 is pro stuff. Read all the reviews at http://www.dpreview.net

I have a canon s300, nikon 2500 and a fujifilm 6900.
You definitely get what you pay for.
I favor my canon due to portabilty, convenience and color definition.
The fuji takes the best photos (day and night) but is typically too large for your pocket.
