Icon2 Honda civic EF Vtec Solenoid problem!!! help!!!

Ok i have this honda civic ef 1991 with vtec but the problem is that i don't know if the vtec is kicking in and i already bought a new vtec solenoid install it and everything. Does anybody know what could break from the vtec solenoid if its the plugs or the pressure sensor? or maybe the top of the vtec solenoid? If you had the same problem or if you know about these things please let me know or comment on this post, thank you!

I know about those VTEC solenoids.
What makes you think VTEC is not working?
Do you have a CEL?

PS:
Try not to make the letters bigger, it's annoying.

that i know the guy i bought it from he told me that it doesnt kick in the vtec when im going 100mph like if i keep going a little bit more it starts to stop. i dont know if it does that because of the vtec or because the computer is locked. though, the car takes off fast it has a b18 vtec but after 1st gear it runs slow or on 3rd gear and the rpm goes fast up

dude. why don't you post up specs of your motor, whats done to the car etc. I can't see your car, therefore I cannot diagnose what's wrong over the internet. you could have anything from a mini me to a j35, and an obd0 ecu to stand alone. need more info

Run a wire from your positive connector on your battery and touch the top of the solenoid with the other side and listen for it popping open if it pops its working fine! then check the filter in the solenoid for gunk and crap sometimes that bogs vtec down!

Well I know that the ecu should have a speed limiter, so your 100mph runs will only make it to about 110-115. Its not Vtec.

As for your description, check the oil level, timing, vtec sel....

"when im going 100mph like if i keep going a little bit more it starts to stop".... this sounds like a speed limiter as 91efh22 says.... "after 1st gear it runs slow or on 3rd gear and the rpm goes fast up" Im stomped on this one sounds like a dodgy conversion or probably loose wire on vss or somewhere?? dizzy probs?? what b18? b,c,c4,c5 ect for obd1 is it a jumper or made loom?
