About a month ago a kid hit me and did this.

I've been wanting an S2000 for awhile, even before the Lude was raped. I was hoping to find an '03-'05 GPW/tan (and bone stock), but they seem to disappear faster than birthday cake at fat camp.
Anyway, I've stumbled upon this possible gem, and I'm wondering what you guys think. It will be my daily driver.
Quick rundown:
2006 LBP (not Suzuka, as listed)
83k miles
completely stock
OEM front lip
OEM wing spoiler
Seller listed for $18k and then offered $17k out-the-door.
Here's a pic.

Questions:
1. Is $17k about right or should I try for lower?
2. What do you think of the seats?
3. How many people put AP1 wheels on their AP2? Are the brake calipers the same?

1. always try lower-depending on mileage and condition, it depends so noone is going to be able to give you a definitive answer on price...that depends on what YOU think its worth...personally i think its steep for 83k miles myself
2. i prefer AP2 seats
3. why would you want to do that? cant run 225/45/17 f and 255/40/17 r if you do that and i never down size tires...ever...and yes, brake calipers are the same
sidenote- just personal preference, but test drive that and then try and find an '05 model...the '06+ are DBW which im not a fan of, but like i said, personal preference

1. IDK.
2. The seats don't look too bad IMO. At least they're not ripped up or completely flattened.
3. Very few. Most people prefer 17" wheels over 16". Not sure about the brake calipers. Part numbers appear to be the same, but I know they came painted silver on AP2s.

i think 15-16.5 plus ttl should be alright. that's about-below average mileage for an 06, but i would prefer to find one below 50k.
also ap1 wheels arent staggered, i'd prefer ap2 wheels and seats.

Update: I just found an '03 GPW with 65k. Now, I'm torn between the two. Here's the ad. Opinions?

18k? you can get an AP2 with approx 20k miles less with that money BUT then again there are many factors to consider.
i.e. overall feel of the car, , if owner replaced/maintained with recommended parts, and ask yourself is this REALLY the color combo I want, MY diff DBW or not which was mentioned already

id get the '03...no DBW and its an AP1 and not to mention its white...be a no brainer for me, you get a more raw sports car in the color you want for less money and less miles...and im fairly certain you can talk that '03 down into the 12.5 range
Do your research on differences between AP1 and AP2's - there are a lot of improvements, and also compromises. One may suit you more than the other. You will be happy with either.

Believe me when i say it takes a special breed to stick with an AP1 for more than 8 years. I've had mine about that long and after 2007, it started to look outdated. So cosmetically, my AP1 now looks like an AP2 LOL. Also the drive feel of the two, if you auto-x, are different. The Ap2 are more but not much more forgiving. AP1 tell you're worry, forcefully bend you over and....have you seen OZ on HBO?
