so Ive been having this problem with my car...at speeds higher than like 55mph, the car feels unstable, like if I take a curve a tthat speed, feels like Im gonna lose control, feels like the rear end is gonna break loose a little just by switching lanes...anyways, my question is what can be causign this? could I have broken an integral part of the suspension system? it started when I took my car to the track, when I was doign 1/4 mile runs, I did a couple, it was fine, then I started noticing that at the end of the track the car was getting unstable..could I have broken something at the track? maybe a sway bar or something?

well, I check the tire pressure..and I mighta found the problem. the rear tires, one sides like 35psi(supposed to be like 42), and then the other side..has like 70psi(suposed to be like 42)...thats prolly the problem eh?

 

70 psi will make them feel like they are scating around on ice.

 

70 psi! Damn that's impressive. Check your tires for uneven wear or choppiness. Open your driver's side door and get the correct tire pressure from there. Cars like the new eclipse actualy have different tire pressures for the front and the back.

Dude, 70 psi is all you need for your rear end to feel unstable, your lucky you don't blow a tire out on the street...

BTW, Roadracers/Autocrosser's raise rear tire pressure to make the car more "loose" on a FWD car.. It lowers the contact patch, and is also like jacking up rear spring rates... But we are talking from 35-45 psi, NOT 70...

 

32 psi is what is recomended.
