Default Jdm p30 vs chipped p28 with p30 basemap on lsvtec

So I recently traded my b16 swap for a rebuilt lsvtec and after the install I was running my same p30 Ecu and it wouldn't hold an idle and then rev up to about 5k and then drop down and die...
I swapped in my dads chipped p28 Ecu with a stock p30 basemap and it idles fine and runs alright I know I need a tune but I'm curious as to why the ecus run it differently..

Try putting the p30 in your dads car and see what happens. If it does the same thing then you know its the ecu giving your issues.
