95 sedan, stock f22b2 with 262k

Whenever I start the car when the engine is cold it makes this rattling sound, but as soon as i give it gas it goes away. I doesnt do this when I'm at a red light or stopped, ONLY when it first starts up. Also, since this rattling problem started the acceleration on my car has went noticeably down,
even with it having that many miles.

I'm thinking it might be a bad catalytic converter, but that's just a shot in the dark, I have no idea (obviously) of what it could be.

 

Have you tried standing outside the car and looking for it?

You are likely correct on the exhaust diagnosis, place the car on jackstands and have a look.
