B16a Timing belt flaps over 3k RPM
I recently changed my timing belt and tensioner pulley on my b16, and now it starts to flap like it's loose whenever the car is revved over 3k rpms, regardless if it is in gear or neutral.
I've done everything by the books in tightening the belt. Turning over the crankshaft till 3 teeth passed on cam gears etc., and the belt is tight until it's revved over 3k like said before.
I did not receive a new spring with the tensioner pulley, so that was my guess as to what the problem is. The spring lets loose whenever more tension is placed on it. I already bought a new spring and it should be here tomorrow, just wanted a 2nd opinion I suppose.

Did you tension belt properly? Line everything to TDC loosen tension, turn the crank counter clockwise only 3 teeth. Tighten the tensioner.
It was the spring the was letting loose, I got the spring in today and switched everything out, and now the belt has no extra slack, however there is still a rattle i am hearing from the belt side of the motor. I do not have an upper belt cover, so I'm wondering if it's the lower cover smacking on the engine mount.
I can get video a little later if it will help, have to wait for the engine to cool down so i can replace a coolant line that someone over tightened, as the hose just split.
