Default AIR Bag light on, passanger airbag wire cut...question on fixing it...

My Airbag light has been on since I got the car (97 civic hatch cx), didn't care much until the other day I tried resetting it and it wouldn't go off. Upon further inspection I realized when the JDM passenger dash pocket was installed whoever did it simply cut the plug off while it was in the airbag leaving the snipped ends. Since this is one of the few electrical curcuits I know nothing about heres my question...In order to fix this and reset it should the wires be crimped together? I assume that would be the fix since the wires were seperate to begin with in the plug, but as stated I know nothing on Airbag curcuits. Info is appreciated.

you need to wire a resistor inbetween... I am not sure on the resistance spec needed. Maybe someone else knows. Should be between 2-5 ohms, IIRC.

Would the steering wheel airbag share the same resistance?

so once i measure resistance of that, wire a resistor in with that value and go through the reset process again and it should be off...ok. let you know what happens.

yep... I would pick up a variety pack of resistors from 2-5ohms... just use whatever works.
