Saw this on my drive home today...
Driving on 495 E in MD on my way home from my parents house I spotted this:
I have more pics...but I forgot to blur the license plate.

they sound great at WOT, sadly the guy who was autoxing his in the area had to sell it (a $20,000 maintenance bill was not jiving with him). Not as fast as a 911 turbo....porsche

why do you need to blur a ferrari plate... most of them are in gated communties... and if stolen are stolen by pros... ferrari anti-stealing devices are like the new benz anti-security devices, which they say is unstealable....

I dunno if its got a really short gearbox or straight cut gears or what, but this thing was whining on the highway...sounded like it was turning 6k rpm cruising at 80.
F*ckin sweet sounding.

He was probably just buzzing along in 3rd or 4th at around 6K. The car redlines at around 8500 and has pretty close gearing.

flat crank?
A V8 with a flat-plane crank fires similar to two four cylinders, which is why they sound different from a cross-planar V8's characteristic rumble.
sad thing about living in west LA is that i see these quite often... at first it was like wow now its just ohhh another one... one day i saw 6 bently/rolls thats like 2 million dollars worth of cars.
flat crank?
The crank of that Ferrari V8 is known as a "flat-plane" crank. What that means is that the journals of the crank are on the same plane, like a four cylinder crank. Most V8s use a cross-planar crank (looks like an X), so you have journals in four directions instead of two.
