I wired it up and I connected my battery and now it's always on... Is that normal?

 

Nope, should only come on with the key in and on the "I" position I believe (accessory).

Why did you "rewire" it? Aren't they pre-wired for this?

 

Oh dang... I didn't prewire it I just tapped the pigtail into the factory radio harness... I think I put the yellow clock wire into the red/black factory harness, the red/black clock wire into the red/yellow factory harness, white/blue clock wire into the white/blue factory harness, and the black to the black
