Default Where to get a good copy type r lip?

Hi Guys, i'm trying to get a accurate copy( accurate shape) of the ek9 front lip (facelift). i noticed that the generic FL front lips mostly available are'nt very accurate here in South Africa and most places *ie: the shape is different*, they protude way to much at the sides, they are too thick at the sides - pics attached of the original and copy ti illustrate this-

Can anyone suggest a website/ store anywhere were i can get an accurate copy? Direct from Honda over here is unrealistically expensive

original lip:

The copy mostly available:

There are only hundreds of them on eBay, if you're willing to dig through them all. Prime example.

Thats a pre-facelift. the pfl is usually accurate.

most suppliers will post a pic of a car with a lip that is not not the actual lip they ship. I dont wanna ship in a lip that looks right in the pics but when is shipped is actually different.

what i want is someone that understands the difference in the pics posted above and knows a supplier who genuinely stocks an accurate copy of a facelift ek9 front lip

If the lip they ship isn't the lip they picture, that's called fraud. If they won't accept a return with full refund, PayPal can (and will) force the refund.

As for addressing your question, keep in mind that the EM1 (99-00 Civic SI) and 99-00 EK9 lips are the same. Source. That might make your search a little easier. 5 minutes on Google turned up the following legit sources for true OEM. JSH Motors (back order), N1 Concepts (back order), ICB Motorsport (back order), Showoff Imports.

You're looking for a knock-off of an OEM part, but are wondering why the fitment isn't correct?

Do I understand this correctly?

appreciate your effort buddy, but unfortunately those sites dont help. it suggests oem lips which are around $250 or the bad copies that i spoke of.

i want an accurate copy without the hectic price tag. the bad copies can be had for around $70 and the oem for around $250.

i want an accurate copy for around $120

Ok so after searching & searching it seems all the 'copy/generic' facelift ek type r lips are the same innacurate ones. Because the genuine lip is too expensive, i ended up buying the used 'copy/generic' lip and modified it by cutting and welding the bottom on both ends.

the result is a slimmer, smoother lip that looks closer to the original.

the copy/generic lip before:

i've cut out about a centimeter from the bottom of the lip at the parts where it protrudes at both ends and made the transition from the bottom middle part of the lip to the bottom left/right protrusions much gentler/smoother.

Yeah. Still don't see it. Perhaps when you actually get it on the car.
