Should have a check engine light on, get the code and see what it says.

If i could, can I get a diagram of the wiring or just how to wire it? Thanks

Illuminated CEL means no VTEC. It not engaging has nothing to do with the VSS.

mostlikely the plug that plugs into the VSS. they corrode over time. I just replaced mine and my speedo is back in action.

ok. i tried wiring the vss to the ecu and now the middle wire (yellow/blue) to power and its not sending any fuel? for it to send fuel, i need to wire it to the battery and then unplug it everytime so my battery doesn't drain out. i'll try a new plug and see how that goes too.

go to a junk yard and cut a few connectors with wires to replace the connector end on the harness along with a few inches of wire. I found mine was corroded badly and that fixed it. Theres no need to run a new wire from the vss to the ecu if you just have a bad end.

As code 17 is not thrown, check whether the wire running between the VSS plug and cluster/speedometer is broken.

The VSS speed signal wire runs to B2 (Yel/Blu wire) in the cluster. Check for continuity (not voltage) from B2 in the cluster connector to the Yel/Wht wire terminal in the VSS connector.

Your wiring harness may be bad. No speed sensor means no vtec!
