It’s been awhile, member reintroduction thread. Beater content.
Jake here,
Making a reintroduction thread since I haven’t been active on this site or with Hondas for about 4 years. Just picked one up for a winter car, thought I would share. Something that might be a bit different than your typical new member is that fact that I’m only 3ft 9in tall. No joke. Lightweight driver mod! I try not to let that get in the way of my driving hobby though. I have been auto crossing on and off for about 3 years with the Fox Valley sports car club, and Central Wisconsin sports car club.
Enough about me here is a bit of where my car obsession began.
I started off with Hondas (had 3 of them this was my favorite)
Here is my 1991 Honda CRX HF that had a Japanese GSR motor and LSD transmission.
This was four years ago now.

Then I switched car types completely, I didn’t want FWD anymore.
So I bought a very clean low mileage semi-built Galant VR4 I just wasn’t feeling that car at all, way to big for me. A serious sleeper, wolf in sheeps clothing.

So I went back to small cars and picked up a 1996 Mazda Miata that was turbocharged. Super fun car, wish I didn’t sell it. Sleeper status for sure, car rips.

Then I wanted a bit of a project/fun car over the winter so I picked up a 1990 BMW 325is from texas, the factory LSD was fun but the car had way to many issues for me to tackle still being in school so I sold it.

After the E30, I still wanted a fun project through winter so I bought a 1990 Nissan 240sx. Car was a blast to slide around in the snow with, but once the snow was gone the car didn’t have enough power to slide…. So like the others it got sold too.
When I first bought it.

For the following summer I went back to a car that I knew I loved, another Miata. I was forced to sell it so I could find something a bit better for winter. I had a blast building, and driving this car.

I want to make Poopy one color, thinking red oxide primer or that off white flat almond color. Opinions?
I think I’m just going to tape it all off(keep the moldings/trim/ black) and spray it without fixing the rust. Its a beater, and I don't want to bondo it...
Well thanks for reading the overly long intro, feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Thanks man. I loved the red car too wish I didn't sell it.
If you had Poopy, what would you do with its paint situation. Oh I forgot to say, Poopy was my cheap winter beater, but it does have some progress group coilovers on it and a energy suspension bushing kit. Also Poopy is deceivingly quick, should be a solid high 13 second car on decent tires. Its the best sleeper ricer car, suprises the **** out of people. Weighs a little over 1900lbs!

Yeah sure seems that way. Painting Poopy as we speak. Might of had too many beers and thought a spray bomb job was a good idea.

Glad you guys are enjoying the build/intro.
Poopy has a dohc in it that makes enough ponies to have fun.
Well respray is half done, still need to do the bumpers. Is it better than it was.... I think. I'd say same quality. Sucks to suck I guess, Haha. It was my first time doing anything like this. I'll try it again soon. I just wanted it all to match. Poopy was THEEEE Anti-poon magnet here on campus before. Its a bit more bearable now. I Need to get a good orbital and some rubbing compound, maybe some more wet sanding and it should improve
Before wet sanding. (Seems better but it wasn't)

nice whips... love the look of that red miata... i also been away from this site for a few years but i just pulled my accord back out after a few year hiatus and i finally fixed everything on it after it sat that long... it feels good to be baaaack lol
Glad you guys like the cars too.
you learn to fab/weld those pedal adjustments to the cars yourself??
i am just assuming you would since us motorheads love to blow through different chassis/makes/models as you yourself have in fact done, and would require it in order to drive the car
