1997 Civic HX clutch bleeding problem.
I've replaced both my master cylinder and slave cylinder and I just can't get the system to bleed propertly. There's air coming out of the bleeder valve no matter how many hours I spend pumping the fluid thru. I got the clutch pedal to pretty much where it was before I did anything but when I start the car no gear will go in. One time I was able to get the gears in right after I started the car and didn't release the clutch yet but as soon as I did and pumped it couple times gears wouldn't go in again. System looks dry anywhere you look and I just can't figure out where all the air is coming from. Also the clutch seems to be disengaging when I press it in since as soon as I do the transmission chatter stops. I replaced the rubber hose going from the master cylinder to the reservoir as it got loose when I took it off to replace the master cylinder. Any ideas are appreciated.
So I figured out what the problem was. The master cylinder I bought was bad out of the box and after getting another one the system bled with no problems. After getting that done car still wouldn't go into gear while running so yesterday I took the transmission off and found that one of the clutch disc springs got ripped out and partially grinded. Now all I have to do is put a new clutch in and I should be able to drive again.
