Default Can I use a electric CSS with my stock cluster and cable?

I just swapped in a JDM type r motor and hydro tranny into my 88 EF hatch. Do I need to get a cable speed sensor? Or can I somehow make the electronic vss work with my stock cluster and speedo cable? If I have to get a cable driven vss where would I get one?

To use the electronic vss you will have to swap the cluster

What is a Cable Speed Sensor?

There are two standard options.
1) Swap out your cluster and used an electronic VSS that mounts in the tranny.
There is no cable drive for this - just wires.
2) Keep your stock cluster. This has a pulser mounted on the back of the speedo where the cable assembly plugs in. The other end of the cable assembly goes into the gear drive at the tranny.

or...

Option 3) get a gear drive from a 90-91 Integra with the PS fittings.

But 4drEF is right, there is no such thing as a cable speed sensor.

If memory serves me, the reason I use option 3 was that the D series tranny gear drive fit the B series tranny but then the stock CRX cable was too short to plug in correctly.
I used my stock cluster for years and years this way until 4 years ago when I did the UK cluster swap which also uses a cable. Works like a charm.

I made a small oil reservoir (from a 93-95 civic clutch) and "T" fitting to connect and lube the Integra gear drive just so my PS fittings were not open to air and trash.
