Default jdm d15b vtec maintenance ?'s

just got my jdm d15b vtec swap running, now my question is should I do a valve adjustment first or should I check and adjust ignition timing first?? or it doesnt matter which ever I do first I was goin to do the valve adjustment first....

I will try to answer your kind of question/s?

Since you only change the valve's lash when setting the valve lash the camshafts relation to the crankshaft doesn't change. Ignition timing is independent on setting valve lash. If you were to have valve lash that was severely out of spec, this could affect other things like idle speed and the likes. So all in all set the valve lash while the engine is cold. Then proceed to set the ignition timing after you warm it up. This would be logical.
