this has probably been posted before but i couldn't find anything specific.

Anyway, i have a stock 4th gen right now and i'm going to throw some 16's on it and lower it. I've decided to go with the tokico shock/spring combo as it's cheap and will give me the ride height i want(a 1.5in drop front and rear.)

my question is what size tires do i need so that they clear the fender after the drop?

right now i have 195/60R15's on it and there is slightly less than 1.5in of clearance between the tire and the fender.

i know i want 205/???R16's i just have to figure out the sidewall..

 

External Diameter of Wheel-tire combination= Internal Diameter (inchx25.4) mm + 2x Thread width*Profile/100
For a 4g external diameter is 607mm. Keep within 3% more or less. With 16s its best to go 205/50R16

 

I run 205/55/16 and also lowered 1.5'' and no problems yet

I got the tires dirt cheap and had no choice, but if I did have the choice I would def go with 205/50/16.

I am lowered 1.5 and run a 215 40 16 and it fits with no problems and handles nice

About to be switching to a 15in and sorry to thread jack but anyone know what is the widest tire you can fit on a stock 4th gen rim with the same 1.5in drop? I was thinking 225 50 15.
