Default Simple Green. My 98 EJ8

This is a minor build thread. Mostly I just cleaned the car up A LOT. I got it 8/13/11 for $1,000. It ran, and drove. Everything works. I did a huge tune up on it.
Replaced all the gaskets/seals. It's my daily driver. I'm saving up for an 02-03 S2k, and a 78-79 Cutlass. This car will be my work horse. I want to keep it clean/OEM style and reliable. It runs/drives really good. Here are some before and after pics.

The day I got it, I gave it a quick wash. Was missing the H emblem.

The engine was very dirty, had all aftermarket **** ignition tune up parts

All OEM except for the Intake from Autozone. Much better MPG, and throttle response. I also added a remote start and alarm. New OEM Battery, timing belt service, belts, and fluids.

Car had stock hubcaps, this is after I polished it out

Got some OEM 14's for the time being

Found these on CL for $100

Stripped em down, painted them NH91M and painted lugs black crome

Doing the valve lash adjustment

VTEC solenoid gasket

Philips xtreme vision bulbs

My g/f got me some black housing headlights for my birthday

The oil drain plug was stripped, got a used oil pan, painted it black really quick and got a new OEM drain plug

Front brakes were shot, I also had to replace the pass side caliper.

New rotors/pads, painted calipers

Re-painted the moldings and wiper arms as they faded

Took out the tape player and put this pocket in it's place

Bath

How it sits as of right now.

Gotta get some 99 tails, and 99rear bumper. This one is marked up pretty good.

Thats it for now. I'll be updating (slowly) as I have a lot on my plate right now.

Future plans include:
-Tires for those GSR rims
-Suspension (springs/shocks) sway bars, OEM control arms, trailing arm bushings, tie bars
-OEM fogs
-New front and rear bumper
-New radio with XM, and Ipod adaptor
-Maybe a rear spoiler, not sure on that.

Thank you, it's going to take a while, but this is such a good car I want to preserve it and make it really nice even though it will never be a race or show car. Just looking to have a really nice daily with this.

Spend all day doing swirl removal, and installed a cheap exhaust tip because it was bothering me.

bravo sir!

i LOOOOOVEE immaculately maintained paint, whenever i bought my old protege5 it had been resprayed a nice milano redish color but i figured it was meh because no one took care of it, well after about 100 bucks in detailling products and 10-12 hours of detailing work it looked like it just rolled out of the paint booth and from then on i've vowed to take immaculate care of all my cars paint jobs because it was SOO validating all the response i got from a very simple modded car but people couldn't put their finger on why it was just so appealing...

I know exactly what you mean. I take pride in my cars no matter how old, or what kind, or the condition. I try to take care as best I can. Using OEM parts, or high quality parts.

As time goes on this car shall improve nicely. Nothing tacky going on here at all ever. In a bit I may order a OEM 98 CTR front bumper/lip/grill combo. Its' only $599, then I'll get it sprayed.

I'm not going to slam it, but want 1.5 all around drop. Picked up a Club "twin hooks" for $15 on clearance. Nothing great but added security. Once the snow flakes go on, I'll prob get that wheel lock(boot)

Last year I replaced the pass side brake caliper, recently noticed the driver side is hanging up a bit. Picked a new one up and painted it to match the rest. Gonna install it when the g/f comes over so she can pump the pedal to bleed the brakes when I'm done.

Nice and simple, the way it should be! I always thought the Coupe looked much better without a spoiler, but sometimes it works.

My thoughts exactly. I'll only get a rear spoiler if I end up putting on the front/rear lips and sides. Main focus right now is to get it lowered. I have to order new rear control arms and bolts, as well as trailing arm bushings. Complete rear drum brakes are next.

Would love to see more pics when it's lowered, keep us updated please!

This pic doesn't really belong here, but this was my 94 GSR back in the day. Hoping to eventually get this Civic to look and perform as this car did.
