well, they look more sturdier than their older ones....but seriously, why does DC put holes in their fricken strut bars?!

Actually, you could bend the older style aluminium DC Sports bars quite easily.
I don't even think they used aircraft grade aluminium, and those holes severely weakened their bending rigidity.

I am not defending their design, but I am pointing out why they feel like they bend so easily.
Holes are a common way to lighten a piece without losing too much strength. For example, some of the plate steel gussets in my roll cage have a hole stamped in them.
