what should i do?
its a toss up. what should i do-
keep the del sol
convert the transmission to manual, swap a b16, them make it show quality
or
buy a crx, manual
swap a b16, save $$$ on tranny conversion, and make it show quality.
i cant decide.
anyone wanna throw their 2 cents in?

I say CRX. I luff the CRX!
Besides, if you convert to 5spd and get pulled over and the popo checks your vin and find out that your car was originally an AT... They'd think you and/or the car would be pretty shady.

hey -- why not swap in a B18B and stay auto??
Granted, it'll still be an auto, but B18B's can make a respectable amount of power when FI'd...
auto to manual tranny swaps = too much time, $$ and work.

Imo, if you ever chose to do something other than "show" the car, the CRX is a better place to start. Not that there aren't some fast DELSLO's out there, the CRX is simply a lighter car. You simply cannot add enough lightweightness to the Delsol, given all else is equal, to compete with a lighter chassis, the CRX.
As far as converting an auto to manual, DUD. PITA.

your only 17 me to.If i was in your shoes i would sell the sol and look for the vtec model and if you have no luck get a crx and b18c(i dont kno how much money you have to spend)or a b16.Get some quality goodies in there and youll be running 14.0 maybe depending on the parts and which engine you get
i want to keep the cost of the car and engine under 2.5
that would make 600 for the car, 1200 for the engine, and 700 for swap parts and exhaust/intake/porting manifolds...

On my 90 crx I have encountered things that make even the simplist modification take days because of some bolt or thread that does not want to budge. Im not saying I would get rid of my crx, just plan for more headaches as the age of the car goes up. Oh and thats not even to mention the hidden rust that I have found under the various plastic side panels. To you I give a
