At what point do you need a bigger fuel return?
Looking to go E85 here soon. Going to be running a Walbro 400, Aeromotive regulator and my PTE 1000's @ 50psi. Looking for 550whp
When does one need to run a larger return line?

When you have 70psi on the rail at idle and you cant turn down your Weldon regulator anymore. Thats when the return is a restriction. Until then dont worry about it.
Oh and 1000cc's will max out around 450 on E85.

With a Walbro 400? I've heard of that number for 255's but I was reading threads yesterday with people making upper 500s on PTE's

Sure the pump is capable but the injectors dont have the volume. You can squeeze another 25hp out of them if you crank the pressure to 100psi. I have two Walbro 255s at 65psi base (80psi) at 100% duty @ 8700rpm 450whp with ID1000s.
Edit: Mr Johnson, whats the correct answer - 120psi rail pressure?

read that, you would then have a returnless fuel system.
