Default my initial impressions with a 5.0FD and other goodies

engine mods:
injen cai
rbc
race header
2.5" exhaust
kpro street tuned

new tranny setup:
new OEM 1-6 sleeve sets
JDM CTR 5.0FD
tsx 6th
MFactory helical LSD
all new bearings, seals, etc.

finally wrapped up putting the new trans in today along with hasport mounts and a new slave with stainless clutch line (thanks spaz ). all i can say is WOW! not only does it feel good to have a working 2nd gear again but the overall acceleration with the lsd and 5.0FD is impressive. took a few on ramps at 40-50mph and the car just goes where you point it. no more having to fight the wheel. i have to actually re-learn how to drive it because the rpm drop from 1st to 2nd isnt as bad as i remember it. but i have been driving with a blown 2nd for about 6 months now. highway driving isnt bad either with the tsx 6th. sitting at ~3100rpm @ 70mph. still have to do a recommended 500 mile break in so i'll update as i go and eventually hit the drag strip. my best time so far with the blown 2nd was 14.8 so i'm hopeful for 13's.

did a few soft launches with the new mounts and wheel hop is pretty much gone. vibrations are minimal with the 62a.

if anybody needs tranny work done i highly recommend James and the staff at Gearspeed, James@Gearspeed here on the forums. top notch guy and he'll work with you to get you what you need at the best deals.

Cliffs:
5.0FD and LSD is the ****
James@Gearspeed is the man

yeah I bet that trans is a high RPM beast! Complete opposite of mine! lol

Glad you like the clutch line.

With the TSX gear it's an awesome NA tranny setup!

with my vtec being so low (4300) i keep hitting it just driving around town lol. it just pulls through corners and straights now. pulling onto the freeway im at 80mph before i know it.

i'm falling love with this car all over again. cant wait to put my cams in and retune.

Meh, I'd say Honda MTF is good enough. Just be sure to change it every 2 years. MTF fluid shears pretty bad and quickly loses its viscosity.

i myself recently upgraded from a base rsx 5speed to a JDM FD2 CTR 6speed lsd tranny which comes with a oem 5.062 FD and i simply love it,the car now stays in the powerband and is a real blast to drive now.

highly reconmend 6speed tranny for an allmotor setup. Both the shorter FD and LSD does wonders
