95 dx coupe mini me swap, connecting vtec
Got 95 dx with "mini me" d15 w/ y8 head swap currently running without vtec. I have bought a complete uncut vtec engine harness and a virgin p28 ecu. Now my question is... At this point is it just plug and play or is there still wiring involved? Other threads that I had read were all about wiring straight from solenoid and pressure switch I couldn't find a single one jus about s simple engine hardness install or facts on this specific topic. Also if there is still wiring involved what's the easiest route to take? Still wire ip the harness or just wire plugs to ecu? Thanks for any input..
It will honestly be less work to just splice VTEC into your DX harness. If you were doing a full swap it'd probably be worth it to switch harnesses but I'd just let that one be. You'll need a ground for the pressure switch then two wires going to the ECU. If you can, go cut some factory plugs at the junkyards, that way you can de-pin a couple of wires and easily pin them into your current ecu harness.
It's been a while I don't remember the exact pinouts but you can find it in the FAQ somewhere. There is a diagram showing all OBD1 pinouts.
