I have been stationed overseas for the past 8 years due to the military and finally decided to come back to the states. I dusted my type R and filled all the necessary liquids and took her out for a drive.....8 years ago 350zs, WRX, evos always trying to race me which I know my R is not for the straights. 8 years later nothing has changed!! lol....What is up with people in their 300+hp cars always trying to street race. Do you guys still get people always trying to street race?? By the way I dont street race. Now days i dont even want to hit Vtec due to gas prices haha. Anyways its good to be back home.

 

How could you own a R and not hit vtec all day, that is what a R was put on this planet for!!! Your crazy

People get mad or just take off all fast when I don't want to race

Same here, and almost everytime I take the R for a spin. Ricers are still at large.

I get that **** all the time! I give them a when the try to race with there 300whp sti, evo, or any front mounted cars! I just brush it off! Those suckers make me laugh and appreciate my R even more! Its not everyday thing when you see a "Clean @ss Type R" cruising the streets!! Like mine LoL

 

Yup it happens thats when I roll down the window and tell them to wait just one second while I go get my 4 door accord

It pisses them off when you don't race them and drive the speed limit. I always tend to look at them next to me as if i'm looking at a Toyota Camry, not acknowledging or showing any regard for the fact that they think they have a race car, simply looking through the car as if it isn't there. They are all clowns.

 

Only reason i Turbo'ed my R. 90% of street cars have no chance... Didnt want to look over and slow down or switch lanes because a retarted kid with a new car might **** on my R...

Street racing: stupid, illegal, dangerous, etc. No adult with anything to lose participates. Either wave them off, or tell them you will see them at the next track day. Both responses produce the desired result.

 

Nobody ever tries to street race me On second thought nobody wants to race me period, people are afraid to lose to an all motor 4 cylinder.

 

Who the hell still street races? I don't think I've had anybody challenge me to one in many years. If you have been watching the news you would know North Carolina isn't exactly one of the most intelligent states. I'm curious what makes you guys targets.

I hear ya on the gas. The R is far from a gas guzzler but it sure seems like one when compared to a hybrid. 91 only makes it worse.

 

If I stay out of it, I usually get 30mpg. If I wind it out some, I get 28mpg. Pretty good if u ask me..

I am working on an hx powered ex for a daily driver though.. Hoping to get 40+ with that.
