Honda Hatchbacks similar to WRC winners Peugeot 206?

I watch WRC a lot. I think it makes nascar look like a bunch of kids with soapboxes.

I've noticed the peugeot 206 look A LOT like some Honda Civics. Anybody agree?

Sweet video, Europe has always had its thing for hot hatches, it is understandable why they would all look similiar.

Hehe, when I went to Malaysia to Visit my dad, he showed me around town and the local spot where all the "racers" hang out. Dayum, there was a seemingly endless line of 206's, Lancer Evolutions and Ducati 996's (well only about 4 Ducatis). I loved it.

I see no resemblance but I really love those HB's. I hope to one day go to Europe and watch a WRC rally, its kind of like my dream vacation

back in 97 or 98 when i didnt know anything about cars i used to mistake those 206s for the civic hatches...

they really do look like show cars with big spoilers and kits. but the cars exterior appearance do have a purpose when they race.

Hatches rule... damn I've got the hatch fever again. I miss my old EF Si hatches... the coupe's just not the same.

Good to see there's fellow WRC rallye fans here. It's got to be the best form of automotive racing around.

but u can buy a 206 gti, FF, still looks pretty nice thou

By comparison, it seems so. Nascar cancels races for rain. This year in Sweeden, the teams were pissed that it wasn't snowing harder.

Basically all WRC's have custom AWD systems. Subaru has Prodrive components, but everybody else runs Gertrag sequential transmissions. Some kind of front and rear diffs with a hybrid limited slip mechanism (but they are pretty secretive about this).

Ya, I love the peugeot, but in street trim that thing is a hella dog. only like 106 hp or something. honda designed the new civic in england, that is why it looks like every other hatch coming out the europe. I think they look sweet.

Nascar is just a bunch of drunks playing out childhood dreams of going really really fast around an oval.

when did that body style come out for the peugeot?

honda did it in 92....so ahead of their time with the 5th gen hatch, it still looks like a new design
