which tranny?
Another way is to check transmission serial number. Most of them start out with S80, Y80 or S4C on the hydraulic ones and YS1, J1, S1 and Y1 on the cable ones (B series, of course). Do a little more research and you will find that the best method is to open them up and counting the teeth in the gears.
If there's not vins/tags....
B16 trans = 1st gear @ 8k rpm 40mph
2nd gear @ 8k rpm 60mph
3rd gear @ 8k rpm 85mph
4th gear @ 8k rpm 110mph
itr/ctr trans is same gearing but more than likely lsd equipped.
Gsr trans all gear @ 8k rpm again
1st gear 40 mph
2nd gear 65 mph
3rd 90 mph
4th 120
Ls trans
1st gear 42mph
2nd gear 70mph
3rd gear 100mph
4th gear 130mph
All depending on your tire size...all trans above are with 195/50/15 tire

If you pop the hood and look at the trans and dont see anything you dont have any tags. To the left of the engine code on the block will be one and a lil fourther left on the trans will be another.
