Default Mullens' EK RHD Street/Track/functional Build from Australia

hey Guys Im just posting what ive been doing and collecting, couldnt do it with out my mates in FFamily

as the car sits atm

id just like to share abit of my past, present, and plans for the future.

my past.

prob my favourite of the cars ive owned. all DIY k20 ek with help from all my mates in FFamily

i unfortunatly didnt have the car for very long, due to not being happy with the car, my own personal reasons

but i did manage to take it to QR, go to the drags, attend powerplay and the downshift 2nd bday ^^

sorry for all the spam but I was pretty proud of that car even tho not being too happy with it.

After that I got a Jap Spec Ap1 s2000, bought it stock, took it to QR with just suspension and wider rubber, after that day bought the basic honda mods (intake, cat back exhaust) and tracked it at lakeside managing 65.04, i had big plans for the car but i really wasnt prepared to spend the money to get it to a point where id be happy with it

few pics

might reconise a car here <img name="icon" src="http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emsmilep.gif" border="0">

and how i sold the car

The Present!

so basically i wanted another civic, Ive always had abit of a soft spot for EK's and Eg's. This time round i realised that I wont have enough money to do a K series how id like to (well along with suspension, interior etc)

so its the same game plan as usual super simple, clean, functional, subtle, using quality parts and 0 fakes!!

So i began to look for a good car, explored a few options, ended up finding a EK1 cxi in frost white down in new castle

long story short my friend steve and I flew down last friday to look at the car. WIth only 100,000kms on the clock and a few small little things,i found my car, with not much work i managed to bargin the car down $1,500 and we were on our way

quickly getting some fuel and found out a few interesting things

got rid of this, holy crap it stunk out the car

found this "intersting" sticker

bought some supplys (we left the guys place at 10pm and were driving it home throught the night)

home streach

so we arrived back home @ 8am the next day and slept till about 3pm lol

ne ways since then ive got the car registered, insurance and started getting quotes and organising a few things.

nothing really exciting at this point besides abit of cleaning today.

decided i wanted to freshen up my plastics since i want to keep the exterior pretty tame

after cleaning out the interior i found, money, manuals, new plugs, random bits and peices, a kfc wet wipe and alot of dust lol

and another job for another day

so this is all i have so far, ill be sure to post up more updates as they happen

and how the car sits now

got a few more bits and peices ^^

98 spec Dc2r 36mm 5lug should be good going from 242mm --> 282mm and rear drums to ~262mm rear discs ^^

APR extended studs to suit and some Project Kics open ended lug nuts i had laying around

and one pair of the rims i bought, they are different coloured pairs but i was lucky to find 2 pairs share the same specs on Yahoo ^^

15x8+32 cool 2 see some smaller sizes with some cool specs

and i added them to my wheel pile lol

and a valve cover for my good friend Emilio ^^ u all will prob reconise his EG, gonna strip and shave and repaint this bad boy ^^

gonna clean up the 5 lug with a lick of paint, get some new bearings and extended ball joints, throw in the extended studs, everything seems to be busted/ needs abit of TLC

ill post more when i got more ^^

So a few mates of mine were hitting Queensland Raceway (1 of 2 "local" curcuits, its about 40mins from my house) on the 2nd of May and i was just going to go and watch, started taking to my friend Bobby and one thing led to another

nek minnit

i got up early and bought a new helmet cause my other one was very much on its way out

picked up a rad shoei Helmet and a Shoei blue iridium visor ^^

there are 2 tacks that get raced at "QR" thats the "sprint track" which is shorter and the "clubman track" both are alot of fun :D (this was prob my 3rd or 4th time racing here) its also the same track that our national race series is held on (different lay out again but its still pretty cool)

pics of the layouts

clubman is turn, 1, 2, hairpin into turn 4, turn 5, short straight to turn 6, repeat!

so i figured hey whats the worst that could happen? I packed a set of work equip 01's with some brand new tyres so i test fitted the fronts to check caliper clearance, heaps of room so we were good to go
, when we got there i figured i add abit of humour cause i knew looking at my group id prob be the slowest car

was put in group 4 and managed a 71.7 on sprint track and 73.5 on clubman

it was super sketchy to begin with but by the end of the day i felt alot more comfortable throwing it into the corners lol, Highlight of my day was at the end when a mk6 Golf R driver came up and said "hey this thing goes alright, whats it got in it? b16a or somthing?
i replied "nah dude its completely stock" he looked abit confused and said "oh ..." then walked away, i just looked at Foy and started laughing lol

thanks for the photos Eddie ^^

and also today another shippment arrived ^____^

brand new OEM hood bra,it was too cheap not to buy! new S2k M/C and spacer and OEM gasket, Thanks Checkered Sports!

a new OEM SIR Lip

Goodridge Braided Brake Lines

walbro Fuel pump

Hardrace upper front and rear camber arms, compliance bushes, Front LCA bushes, Front sway endlinks, Front sway D bushes, spherical RTA bushes, Extended roll center adjusters i think thats it

still waiting on a fair few things but hopfully it wont be too much longer, mainly out of stock items from America and waiting for Golden Week to end in Japan so some stuff can get shipped

my songs for today

thanks bud! ill deffs try

hit the track yesterday with a few buddies (b16 eg, turbo mx5, k20a eg)

went out for my 1st session and the tyres really felt off, i came off and really wasnt happy with how the car was feeling, it was kinda night and day to the last time i went out, checked my time sheet and what i thought was 7 seconds slower then last time

anyway feeling abit down in the dumps about it i changed my wheels back and headed home,

after waking up today i realised that i mis read the time sheet and i actually managed 68.58 which was 3 seconds quicker then my best last time, it was funny because that was a faster time then my old EK with coilovers and exhaust lol I guess it shows that seat time>mods

and a pic
