Default #1530 Heart Dies

Anyway just found out that my motor went BOOM! I'm looking at some possibilities for a new motor, or new car. I'd still plan to keep it N/A, but unfortunately I'm not in the states to do the work myself. Options would be to take it to Acura and have them install a completely new engine? What are yalls thoughts? The motor had about 120k on the odometer, guess it was mean to be. The car has been paid off and the only thing I'd consider as a complete replacement is a 08 Mugen Si

Honestly, save some money and build the motor up, i actually have a 08 Mugen Si and a Type R but for the money the mugen si could have been a bit better....but yet on the bright side you will have a rear set of collection if you have both

yeah rebuild the motor, dont be dumb and take it to acura, if you went an bought a whole new longblock and had acura install i dont even want to know what the bill would be, prob over 10 grand

so either take apart your motor, find out whats wrong and buy some replacment parts, or purchase a replacment lonbgblock from hmonline.com and swap that in, both are much much cheaper options

Pm'd you ^^ Thanks for input fellas. Unfortunately I can't just up and do the work myself, as I'm no longer in the country and the R needs to be up and running ASAP. I've got someone else that I trust to use my R, but they need transport also. I got a quote and everything will be warranted, from Acura. I did some searching on ebay and found a brand new B18C5 block for $2500, if the head is still in good shape and didn't die along with the old block that will save $$. Money won't be an issue even though I'd like to do the work myself...now the sticker shock, best case scenario high $4k or worse case low to mid $6k.

Ughhh dam the R in the end will cost me more than my wedding but what can I say I'm attached to this caR. I hope the soon to be wife understands...I'll have to help her get her dream car now "I think you love that caR more than me sometimes!"

Whom ever I get to do the work I'll get them to take pictures. I suppose I should start a new thread soon...JDM nUt's Resurrection of #1530 Until then stay tuned

Brad, I saw SC and thought the same thing. Where's this one at? I'm sure we can get this thing together without issue at all. I may have have some parts you may need.

If your close to the upstate, between Brad and I we can help you or whatever make this happen. Just let us know.

My R in located in Tallahassee, FL. My lady was doing a favor for a girlfriend near Panama City, FL when the block went south. I've got to get it a toe to get it all the way back to Tallahassee thank God for insurance.
