Default stock dizzy vs remanufactured. timing

i swapped in a stock P30 dizzy while troubleshooting no spark. and had it on for a week.

set timing with the p30 dizzy and it was almost dead in the middle with correct timing.

today i swapped back the BRAND NEW remanufactured dizzy(not sure what brand i got it from craigslist) and i had to rotate it all theway towards firewall to get to middle mark.

nothing else changed just dizzy swapped..

is there something inside the distributor that also rotates to have that much offset between p30 and remanufactured one?

Couldn't answer your question directly from experience. All I've ever seen on the forums is to buy OEM when dealing with distributors. This would be one of the reasons why.

anyone can take a wild guess why it would be offset by so much?

i read somewhere about swapping 2 wires for a sensor in the dizzy can cause retarded timing.

this was over 10 years ago so i only remember that, sorry

so is there anything that can be done to the remanufactured dizzy to get it to have proper timing in the center of the instead of rotated all the way?

it looks like they are identical i did not do anything to the wiring.
stock P30 dizzy was in dead center of the bolt hole at 16 degrees.
i put the remanned one and had to hammer it with my wrench to get it to 16 degrees.
nothing else was changed.
what parts areresponsible for the timing inside the dizzy?

there are 3 pick up coils in it can anyone tell me which one does what?
