If you care for the background this is a mint rust free low mileage stripped shell that two or three previous owners had tried to reassemble. I stripped everything out about 6 years ago and had a friend put a wiring harness from an unknown EF into the car. Just now I've found time to get back to it and as far as lights/accessories everything's perfect. Temporarily fixed a fuel leak at the filter banjo to try starting and I don't have ignition.
There's a switch here, it's from the same bundle of wires as the ignition switch wires but I don't have a place that looks like it's supposed to mount to. It's a contact switch with two terminals and 12v across. I don't know if it's part of the ignition system or not. It's got one hole in the body assumed for a screw to mount and not much slack on the wires so I don't think it mounts far from the ign switch.
Again, don't recall what wiring harness we used, I do believe it was a MPFI Si/EX harness but unknown year. The shell's an 88 but I don't remember what I pulled the switchgear or steering column.
To me I'm thinking this is in the ign switch tumbler for key sense to trigger door dinger but not sure, haven't touched an EF in at least 5 years.
