Icon2 Jdm b16a timing belt debate

My fault if I posted in the wrong area but this engine is in a crx and being a common swap for the car therefore posted here and in need of help with a true answer. Basically I have a brand new OEM 99-00 civic si 14400-p2t-004 timing belt I bought a long time ago, intending to replace my timing belt.

This Saturday, I plan to replace my timing belt.

Beforw anyone responds. I need the person responding, either by trial or error or having done this before knowing true exact details of this small issue. I have looked all over the place, and nothing but debates.

For certain! The del sol vtec timing belt works. But what I need to know since I bought possibly the wrong belt is if somone installed the 99 civic si belt on a 1st gen obd0 b16a.

The issue is that supposively the b16a2 civic si came with 1 more tooth on the water pump therefore 1 more tooth on the belt. Then other people say all b16's are the same and they installed the civic si belt on the older b16 no problems.

Is there any hope of me not buying another timing belt? Any help gladly appreciated

All you have to do is compare the parts numbers to see they are obviously the same.

The numbers are the same besides, the civic is p2t and the del sol is pr4 in the middle, the left and right numbers are the ones that remain the same.

The timing belt on my b16 is the original jdm one I believe. Haven't replaced it for 6 years now, which is how long I owned it, and as far as I know

Meh, a stupid question. My brain just got fried from the searching. I'mma just find out for myself when I get to it. Hopefully there isn't an extra tooth.

I'm guessing my part # would be pr3. So thats why I was worried

Go on auto zone.com and look up the belts for each car. If the part number is the same its the same belt. If that's what you are asking but if you are asking if you can rig it to work I would suggest not doing it unless you wanna rebuild the engine

You are flat out wrong. If you actually LOOKED you will see the numbers are identical. You need to look up the right vehicle first.

For all the OBD-0 B16A parts it's easiest to use OBD-1 B16A3 Del Sol parts besides the distributor cap/rotor, fan switch, injectors, and maybe one or two more things you want to use a '90 Integra... This actually has been covered before and I wasn't aware of any debate from people who actually know - if anything it's from people who have no clue.

I think I'm also using the 99 Si belt. You have to be savvy ordering parts for the early B16 swaps. Most parts will be del sol vtec/00 civic si, and some 91 integra like the clutch (depending on your trans). Don't forget 91 nsx vtec solenoid gaskets!
