what kind of intake should i "really" be using on my b16?
i have been having some hood/intake/battery clearance problems that started last week. the aem i have is for a 99-00 si in my 89 hb. i was just looking at a crx si intake and it fits the curvature of the shock tower and battery perfectly. should i be using a 88-91 crx/civic si intake instead of my 99-00 si intake? thanks guys
you can use either. the 99-00 si intake will provide more air tho. i think u should relocate you battery to your trunk for better fitment of the 99-00 si intake!
tried the '99 si aem cai, you'll have to relocate the battery somewhere, unless you get a smaller battery (small as in height). i'm using '93 integra short ram, fits perfectly fine. my friend is using an intake made for the 88-91 crx, fits better than mines.
well it was a cold air intake but when i put my 18's on i had to make it a short ram cuz my wheels and filter would rub when i turned left!! but i want to return to a cold air for many reasons..

...oh wait! They're Racing Harts! Very nice!
Oh yeah, use the 99 si one. the D16A6 one is pretty small, and it curves. Relocating the battery to the trunk is good.
you mean ef?? haha!! well i only use them in the town. no more than 8 miles a day. i am actually looking to get rid of them for turbo parts plus cash or si/gsr rims or rota's if you know anyone.. later amd thanks!!
not making fun-just saying haha!! well you're from south jersey-it's ok!! i am from jersey city, i just temporarily live in wv-finishing my masters.. later and thanks(4 real)

well it is a matter of functional or physical, it's all a matter of what he is going for, but on the other hand, 18 are pretty tough on a drivetrain. I personally go with the functional use.
i completely agree. my normal rolling stocks are gsr rims but i sold those so i put these on for a while. and these rims never seen highway use on this particular car. they only saw highway on my gsr teg that i used to have. but these wheels are on sale or trade in the classifieds here. cuz i just decided to turbo this car so here goes!!
But it still uses puny 2.5 inch tubing.
a standard sized B16 throttle body will only take in as much air as its regulated to, not how big the piping is.

do you really think piping size makes any difference?

but if you have a bigger TB it helps

well my prob wasnt the piping. my prob was clearance under the hood. the hood was hitting my battery and the intake tube was hitting the back corner of the battery. that is when i realized that the intake i had was for the 99-00 si not the 88-91 civic /crx..
