6th gen headlight\electrical problem. HELP!
my passenger side headlight (low beam) has been malfunctioning recently. no mods have been done lately. i turn it on some nights and the low beam wont come on. checked bulb and connection. shouldnt be fuses since all other beams work. then after the car has sat for a while sometimes itll come back on when i turn em back on. other times itll take a day. hmm swapped bulbs and nothing. my voltage reads between 12.0 and 13.8 when crusing\idle. any help appreciated. if i cant figure it out myself im takin it to honda.

I had the same problem with my 99 when i put aftermarket bulbs in and since i'm a certified 12v installer i checked volts, fuses, resintince to ground,ect...
All it ended up being was bulb, the filament broke on 1 side of the bulb and if you hit the headlight a little bit or played with the switch it temperaly welded the filament back together. So try swappin bulbs again, but if by some small chance thats not it drop anoter post or message me and i'll try to help.

i USED an overwattage bulb in the past but when i got over the lovely ricey blue, i decided to switch back to usable light (regular wattage). i dont really know what to look for other than my connections. where on the harness do i look? all the wires lead into a loom. where are my grounds? tried switching the bulbs and i get the same effect. high beam works tho.

check the entire harness. if it's caused by an overwattage bulb burning the harness then it should be pretty obvious, the wires will be melted and discolored.
grounds are always a black wire in your car. either plain black or black with silver dots on it.
switch the the drivers and passenger side bulbs and see if the problem moves with the bulb or stays with the socket. that will eliminate or point to the bulb.

It's possible you have a short in the wire or a bad ground if you know how to use a multimeter check continuity of the low beam wire from the headlight socket to the fuse then from the fuse to the headlight switch, and for checking the amount of resistance to ground put the meter on diode test mode take the black leed from the meter and put it to the - side of the battery then take the other leed and put it to the ground wire on the headlight socket if it reads between0.1-0.2 you should be good any higher try putting the wire to the battery, remember you want the reading as close to 0.0 as possible
Hope that helps
Hope that helps
thanks guys i have located the problem to be at the base of the socket in which the bulb connects to. when i wiggle one of the wires it turns off and on. this must be causing it. now to make it nice and good connection.
