Default need to find out about trans. compatability

I have a 1991 CRX Si SOHC D16A6 w/OBD0 to OBD1 but the Si trans. has become toast since build completed. (bought car used)

Here's question - will a Y8 trans fit in this setup w/out having to get different drive axles (it needs them too, btw) - if not, which transmission should I look for besides the Si as they are rare as hen's teeth anymore. Any help appreciated as this thing on lift now and shops patience wearing out on me over this dilemma. Also need to put in an Exedy clutch from clutch city for the D16A6 - this also compatible w/another transmission or do I get a different one?

For one you would have to convert your car to use a hydrolic clutch, or buy a bracket that will be cable to hydro conversion thats if you use a y8 trans so i would find another unless its something you would like to spend more money and time then just buying a new trans and installing it... but i do perfur the feel of a hydro clutch..

Thx - what are my other options besides an Si trans then?
From what vehicle exactly? So the Y8 trans. is hydraulic only - no cable, I'm assuming.

Never driven a B16 (hiway or ever), how might that be a bad thing?
My ECU has no top end limiter and (EDM) speedo tops @ 150 mph

He's speaking about how high of RPM's youre going when cruising. With my Si transmission I'm going almost 4k rpm at 80mph (that's cruising speed of me, mind you).

Dx final drive is smaller? if I remember correctly and you cruise at I'd guess like 3200 at the same speed. Totally talking out of my *** on that line but I think I'm somewhat correct.

Also I have a Si Transmission (Could be for sale for the right price otherwise I'll just keep it and rebuild it once I give a damn), 5th gear won't glide in anymore at all, synchros need rebuilt I'm sure. God knows how 5th gear went out before any other one. It's usually the last.

Sweet - gas saver too then - have a line on an Si trans. (@ 2 bones/Beeyond Eng.) from up in Milwaukee but if it turns out to be a bust item, will hunt up the DX version instead.

AAMCO told me the trans. in my car was the worst they'd seen (from driving w/NO fluid in it for awhile), NO rebuilding it @ all!

Thx fellers -

Shops will also tell you that you have a bad battery when in fact it's just a grounding issue.

But yes, if you know for a fact that it had no fluid in it and drove for thousands of miles then it's ****ed. But not unrebuildible (not a word.)
