i was thinking about getting a cold intake. but the question is could it help my car get increased mpg from a cold intake affect?

 

Doing the normal maintnance to a car will give it good miles per gallon but a cold air intake will just give more horse power but youll still be good on gas I am ,i gotta weapon r intake cold air to and it made my car fast from stock and its a automatic which I wanna swap out for a stick but get a intake their good the more air that engine sucks in the more power youll have,
I have a 99 civic dx sedan ima keep it for a long time its at 199,700 miles but miles dont mean anything their just numbers everything is fixed and running great better than these new cars plus its fast and good on gas with a quick release steering wheel

my mileage is 202,700 it still running strong. just want to make this topic something i can try to learn to get to improve mpgs. i have done tune up 3 month ago, and havent gotten a change to change tires, what else i need to do?

oh by the way. i noticed civics are kinda weak on highway hills that depend how tall is it on hill that affect lose some mpgs from a hill affect?

 

Your right on the hills you gotta keep pushin it buy youll start goin faster but you burnin gas just go steady I drive fast all day and seem fine,if everything on the engine is good id look at the suspension and make sure thats good and then if you want start gettin performance parts thats if you want to but all in all you should be fine check your o rings on the fuel injectors make sure nothing is leaking thats a loss of gas there,

 

relax its a civic it gets good mpg no matter what its not a hummer

Really gas millage lol try driving a 2dr tahoe lol. Cai will let more air in and it can do better mpg but either way its alot better than a Suv....

 

oooo i will check engines. its cheaper if i found a leak and fix it would it be cheaper? just reference in case.

 

Adding a SRI, or CAI will increase MPG so long as you don't "get on it" to hear the "cool sound" lol. I noticed an increase in MPG when I did mine. More cool air, and less of a travel path.

Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, pcv valve, valve lash adustment, aligntment, tire pressure is all key. Also if you bumper,grill, fenders are misaligned that will take a toll on MPG too.

thats my car. as right now i got a free bumper, and i plan to remove the old rad support frame right wrecked but it run fine for three year, my friend told me previous owner of my civic got look like that because it was in little wrecked not sure. i got a used rad support frame, and got a new headlight pair havent installed it because right side doesnt fit due to area thats wrecked
