Not the starter or battery or alternator...
Okay girls and guys...my 97 Honda civic of will not start. No warning signs of any kind. I have checked the starter, the battery, the alternator, the main relay, the neutral safety switch, the ignition switch, and re-grounded everything as well. I am so lost at this point...even tried to read the cel but got no error codes...any suggestions folks, please.
So the starter is not turning the engine over?
Or the starter is turning the engine, but it won't start?
What do you mean by "I have checked the starter"? What did that entail?

I removed the starter and bench tested it and it fires no problem
When I try to start the car I get absolutely no reaction from the engine it has lights and all

It's possible, but I think its unlikely..
it could be a million and one things, ok not that much, but you understand haha.
she sais she checked her wires, but they could be broken, etc in the starter circuit, the solenoid and or the motor gave out, the ign switch, the batery term connections could be corroded, hell the battery could be bad.. lol but shes checked some of those.

Sounds like your car is manual, right? If so, there isn't a Neutral safety switch. It should have a Clutch switch.
Is that where the grommets you said are missing? That would be a good start.
Also, check to see if you have 12 volts at the S-terminal at your starter while someone else holds the key in the cranking position. If not, your problem lies in between your Clutch switch, starter relay, starting system fuse, ignition switch and possibly the S terminal wire (if it's broken/open).
Make sure your B+ wire is not broken/open and you have a good connection there as well. Hope this helps

Make sure the car is not in gear as you are by-passing the entire safety of the system!
I know its not called the safety switch but I have been told at least four different names for it...regardless I jumped the wiring fir that and got sound from the starter and lights dimming
I know you said you checked your grounds but mine did something similar until i replaced the tranny to chassis ground then it would start. Also i've been told the thermostat ground is a known trouble maker.
Are you able to push start the engine?
FYI -- replace this rubber stopper:
So sorry folks, my internet decided to take a cue from my car apparently! We did try to push start and of course to no avail...I removed the ignition coil and had it tested at autozone and was informed it wasn't bad. Two days later still scratching my head and I remember that when I tested the spark plugs they sparked yellow...It's gotta be the ignition coil...replaced it in less than two minutes and voila the car runs fantastic! You guys are absolutely a great bunch and superbly helpful...I think at this point maybe I should get a job at autozone...just saying! Thanks again to all of your help and huge hugs and loves to you all!
