Cluster Q's C'mon guys I know you can help me out here..........
Alright I did a search but it didn't answer my questions. I have an 88 std meaning I have no Tach what so ever
I want to get an SI Cluster and I really like the look of the Rounded cluster hood on the 90-91's can I just swap em with no problem or is there difference in wiring and mounting brackets. And if anyone an has an extra they want to sell Let me know. Thanks in advance

Look around this question has been answered a million times. The 88-89 gauge clusters are different then the 90-91 clusters. The pins in the back of the clusters are different they can be made to work by changing wires.

They CAN fit - but I don't know if you need to modify it or not, you might need to get the 88-89 Si guage cluster itself, then put on the 90-91 housing on top of it. BUT, I really think that you can just install an entire 90-91 guage cluster in your '88.
Figure it out! Order one of the newer one's and try to transfer them! You'll figure things out as you go along - I know people here have done this before.

To make the 90-91 gauge cluster fit on 88-89 car, you need a 90-91 mounting bracket and a rounded gauge cluster hood. Wiring modifications needs to be done too. Check your local wrecking yard for these parts. Thats what I did and spent $40 total for both items. I'm putting a 90-91 SiR cluster on my 88 Civic DX this weekend.
